De Kwakel, April 2025 – From June 3 to 5, the IFTEX trade fair will take place in Nairobi, Kenya. For the first time, breeder Agriom will be present at this event. One of the product groups Agriom will showcase is hydrangea for cut production from the tropical breeding program of HBA. These hydrangeas are specifically developed to perform well under tropical climate conditions. During IFTEX, Sjoerd Ederveen warmly welcomes you at booth F4.09. He will be happy to tell you more about HBA’s tropical hydrangea assortment.
Agriom, a breeding partner in HBA, was the first to launch a breeding program focused on selecting hydrangeas for equatorial regions. The assortment includes varieties that have proven their ability to initiate flower buds under tropical conditions. Breeding and selection take place partly in the Netherlands and partly in Agriom’s own trial garden in Limuru, Kenya. HBA’s hydrangea varieties are grown in Kenya, among others, by Flora Delight.
